-Jim Brinson


Longtime journalist Jim Brinson has joined KSWT News 13 as an evening anchor and executive producer and will appear on the station's 5:30, 6 and 10 p.m. weekday news shows.
 
Brinson has reported and anchored both news and sports for the past 30 years. He's done extensive air work for ESPN and worked for top TV stations in Dallas, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Philadelphia and other cities. He also has been a Major League radio play-by-play announcer for the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, Buffalo Sabers, Toronto Blue Jays and other teams.
 
He isn't new to Yuma, having covered spring training years ago and more recently has visited a friend here several times.
 
His agreement with KSWT will allow Brinson to occasionally announce national events on ESPN.


-Danny Bryant, Blake DeWitt

Local businessmen Danny Bryant and Blake DeWitt have been elected to the board of directors of 1st Bank Yuma.
 
Originally from Kentucky, Bryant moved to Yuma in 1976 as the manager of Westerner Products of Yuma. In 1981, he and his wife, Susan, founded Pacesetter Homes.
 
Bryant has been active in many civic and charitable organizations in Yuma County, including the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce, The Trade Club of Yuma, the Leukemia Society and Crossroads Mission. He also served a four-year term on the Yuma County Board of Supervisors.
 
Originally from Ohio, DeWitt moved to Yuma in 1968. He began his media career at The Sun in 1975 and went on to publish a number of papers around Arizona. He has been with Western Newspapers Inc. since 1990, where he is the senior vice president.
 
DeWitt's community involvement includes Rotary, Salvation Army Advisory Board, president of Arizona Newspapers Association and board member of Yuma Friends of Arizona Health Sciences Center.
