JOHN MORALES

John Morales, executive director of the Yuma Private Industry Council, has been elected president of the National Workforce Association. The association employs a staff in Washington, D.C. and acts as advocate for local workforce development organizations such as YPIC.

As president, Morales will be working to preserve and expand the Workforce Investment Act, speak on behalf of the association and testify before Congress on workforce issues.

CHRISTOPHER D. BADILLA

Christopher D. Badilla, an employee of Burge Locksmith Service, recently was awarded the designation of Certified Registered Locksmith by the Associated Locksmiths of America. The certification is based on the recipient's knowledge and competency in locksmithing and physical security and must be applied for every three years.

JOHN OSTERMAN

John Osterman has been elected to New York Life Insurance Company’s 2007 Chairman’s Council. Members of the council rank in the top 3 percent of New York Life's sales force.

In honor of his performance, Osterman was invited to attend a meeting in Hawaii, where he met with Sy Sternberg, chairman of the board.

Osterman, owner of Osterman Financial Group, 1763 W. 24th St., Suite 101, has been providing life insurance and financial services to Yumans for 29 years. He can be reached at 726-9660.
