Yuma resident Kelly Keithly was named the 2008-08 chairman of the American Seed Trade Association's board of directors during the organization's 125th annual convention.
Keithly, who is the founder and president of Keithly-Williams Seeds based in Holtville, Calif., previously served as president of the California Seed Association. He also has held other positions within ASTA, including chairman of the Vegetable and Flower Seed Division, vice president of the Western Region and director at large.
Founded in 1883, ASTA's membership consists of approximately 750 companies involved in seed production and distribution, plant breeding and related industries in North America. Its mission is to enhance the development and free movement of quality seed worldwide.
