The effect of silent significance
Fall brings artistry from the brush of the Creator. Thousands each year spend time and money traveling to the Northeastern United States. Anticipation is fulfilled as the bright “autumn” colors fill their vista across the rolling hills and valleys.
One of the most beautiful displays is provided every fall in the foothills of San Francisco Peak near Flagstaff, Ariz. Aspen trees with their white bark and golden “yellowed” leaves beautifully glow in the setting sun against the deep green of ponderosa pines.
Every fall, leaves delight us with their color change. Frost comes and change occurs for the leaf. The natural result of life is seen. It's as natural as gray hair brought by time.
The leaf does its work with consistent continuity. It receives the breath of spring, the light of summer and the tree to which it is attached is enriched. In spring rains, summer heat and fierce storms, it holds on. Nutrients are provided through quiet, peaceful and dependable contribution.
As fall closes and winter comes, the leaf is no longer beautifully responding. Vibrant color and songs of the wind no longer exist. In every tree by which a leaf lies is an added ring that will remain as a testimony of the work accomplished in its season. The leaf has fulfilled its silent significance.
