Tips for sending letters to the editor
One of the many inquiries I've gotten since becoming editor of this newspaper is about submitting Letters to the Editor.
Here are a few tips for those who might want to submit one.
• Keep your letters short and to the point … about 350 words or less. We don't have a lot of room on the page, and we want to allow a variety of voices to be heard. So please, keep them short and sweet. (To give you perspective, this space is about 150 words).
• Keep your language clean. That sounds pretty simple, but you would be amazed at how many I've tossed due to curse words that really don't need to be in there.
• We do reserve the right to edit or trim your letters, for space, content, grammar or all of the above.
