Moving with the speed of life
There exist so many stressors in our lives, both internal pressures and external expectations, that we must learn healthy and effective ways to deal with them.
One successful approach to stress reduction is to lift ourselves above dreary deadlines and strict structures and return to the natural rhythm of life within us. This innate cadence differs for each person, so we do well not to compare with others but to respect every individual's pace and pattern, including our own.
I recall three sisters who loved and cared very much for one another but could not walk comfortably down a street together because of the difference in each one's natural pace. They enjoyed one another's company very much and would often laugh about their dissimilarities. They had learned to relax and appreciate each other, rather than feeling upset about their differences.
Of course, family and social situations are not the same as corporate or work-related circumstances where tasks must be done, projects completed, and expectations met. Still, as we listen to our innate rhythm and honor the essence of the natural self, we can learn to bring our distinctive gifts to each commitment with a greater sense of freedom from stress and an expanded awareness of joy on the job.
If we consider that Infinite Life moves forward peacefully and powerfully and that each of us can connect with that graceful flow, then we can allow this Life to move through us serenely and productively, no matter what our individual tempo may be. Imagine respecting everyone's distinctive expression of this Universal Energy and inviting your own employment of it to keep you in a state of tranquility. As God creates by proclaiming, “Let there be . . .,” so we do well to enter into the consciousness of inviting this Divine Presence to express through us all with grace, ease, and great productivity.
