Drug bust turns into breakfast invite
How often do reports about a possible drug operation end up with a breakfast invite?
A little news nugget made me smile when it told about agents swarming an Illinois home suspected of making meth.
Instead of buckets of drugs, agents found themselves in a sticky situation of a sweeter kind. The folks were only cooking up gallons of maple syrup!
I love it when something sinister turns out apple-pie innocent with just a little inspection.
Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for the jugs of “water” I made into mud pies as a tyke.
I needed a little liquid and found the jugs conveniently stashed behind my grandpa's water tank. Boy did he holler. I still blame him for not clearly labeling it “moonshine.”
But back to the syrup story...
The homeowner thanked her neighbors for being vigilant. She also used the opportunity to invite her neighbors over for pancakes.
