PREP TRACK

YC girls take fourth

Yuma Catholic’s girls team placed fourth and its boys team tied for fifth at the Glendale Knights of Columbus 19-team meet at Bourgade Catholic High School on Saturday.

Sean Peters won the 800-meter run with a time of two minutes, 5.5 seconds and was part of the 1,600 relay team that took first with a time of 3 minutes, 47.8 seconds. Joining Peters was Robert Norton, Jacob Montchal and Phillip Hoovestol.

Norton also finished second in the 100 run.

Torrina Harris took home four medals by taking third in the long jump (13 feet, 10 inches), triple jump (33 feet, 10 inches) and 400-meter run (1 minute, four seconds). She also anchored the 1,600-meter relay team that placed second with a time of 4 minutes, 39 seconds. Morgan Frank, Haley Johnson and Madison Brazeel rounded out the relay team.

Haley Aivazian placed third in the high jump with a mark of four feet, eight inches.

PREP BASEBALL

San Pasqual splits with Joy Christian

San Pasqual rebounded from a 16-9 loss with a 12-10 win in a home doubleheader against Joy Christian.

Rigo Garcia picked up the win for the Warriors. Paul Wiseman and Christian Anglin each went 3-for-3, while Andrew Baltzar added two hits.
