Let it be light, let it be bright
Although I am opting for a simple Christmas this year, I am very much enjoying the beautifully decorated homes of my neighbors and the colorful lights everywhere I go. I am learning to appreciate these lovely reminders of the season with less “doing” and more “being.” The Spirit of Love needs no outward décor; yet, the bright lights remind us of the Love-Light that is ever-present within each human heart and reflects the Divine Light available to all.
Honoring the rebirth of a New Possibility, we prepare ourselves by connecting with this Universal Presence of Love and extending it to everyone we encounter on this sacred journey back to The One. We can let it be easy and grace-filled, rather than stressful or problematic. Shopping and wrapping can be fun, but resting and “unwrapping” is deeply satisfying. Removing the layers of anxiety or confusion allows us to commune with the Loving and Wise Presence within us, where we find that warm, steady embrace and clear, direct guidance from our Source.
Even on Christmas morning, when ribbons and paper adorn the floor and children are excited but still sleepy, we can look beyond the “mess” to the message: “Love is reborn on earth, and Peace truly is a possibility.” The Light of Truth allows us to see beyond human behaviors, to bring a sense of Serenity to the unrest in the world, and to shine a Light of Love on humanity. Breathe, smile, and relax into the sweetness of the Season. We can begin with our own family, our dear friends and neighbors, and anyone we meet today. Keep it simple and keep it bright.
