    PEDRO OCHOA, LUCIA RAMIREZ

      Pedro Ochoa, who has been with Chase for six years, has been promoted to assistant branch manager at the Chase branch at Avenue B and 16th Street. A graduate of Douglas High School, he can be reached at 343-4260.

      Lucia Ramirez will be replacing Ochoa at the 170 W. 16th St. branch as service sales assistant. Originally from Mexicali, she has lived in Yuma for seven years and graduated from Northern Arizona University-Yuma in May with a bachelor's degree in business administration.     JOHN S. GARCIA

      John S. Garcia has been made a partner in the law firm of Byrne, Benesch and Villarreal, P.C., 230 W. Morrison St.

      A Yuma native, Garcia graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor's degree in agricultural and resource economic and a minor in Spanish. He subsequently earned a juris doctorate degree at the UA James E. Rogers College of Law.

      Since joining the law firm in 2003, Garcia has focused on real estate and business law, and commercial litigation. He also practices in the areas of contested trusts and estates, construction law, probate and trust administration, creditor's rights and estate planning.

    NEW FARM BUREAU OFFICERS

      During its recent annual meeting, the Yuma County Farm Bureau selected Marvin Marlatt as president; Art Allen, vice president; David Sharp, treasurer; and John Boelts, secretary.

      New and returning board members are Bruce Easterday, Hank Czajkowski, Harold Maxwell, Terry Easterday, Dave Mansheim, James Ferguson, Eileen Dunn, Willie Negroni, John Dinsmore, John Hume, Myrle Marlatt, Kent Inglett, Marcos Moore and Mark Spencer.

     Also during the meeting, the farming organization presented the environmental award to Val Colvin, media award to Kurt Nolte and service to agriculture award to Omar Lee Casey and family. Clyde Sharp was honored as the farmer of the year.

    DR. KRISTINE BERNARDO

      Kristine Bernardo, M.D., an internal medicine physician, has joined the Hospitalists of Yuma, the contract provider of hospitalist physicians at Yuma Regional Medical Center.

      Dr. Bernardo completed internal medicine residency at Synergy Medical Education Alliance in Saginaw, Mich.
