McEvoy named NJCAA player of the week

AWC freshman quarterback Tanner McEvoy was named the NJCAA Offensive Player of the Week.
McEvoy threw for 416 yards and five touchdowns, both school records, in a 63-38 win over Scottsdale on Saturday, moving the Matadors to No. 2 in the latest poll.
AWC crosses the state Saturday to take on Eastern Arizona at 6 p.m.
