March 03, 2012 10:08 PM
Gone are the days of successfully promoting a business by sending out a random message here and there though your social media channels. Simply posting on Facebook and Twitter is not enough anymore.
2012 will be the year that business owners will need to start understanding and implementing social media marketing and knowing how to use it strategically. As social media continues to become more mainstream, content is playing a bigger and more important role. It's not just being seen or “liked” anymore – what you say actually matters to your audience. Your customers have higher expectations and are wanting clear well crafted messaging that will help them succeed.
With businesses struggling to keep up with day to day tasks, writing good unique marketing content is more than overwhelming which is why businesses have started to outsource their content creation or hire a media specialist. The newness of social media is wearing off and the tolerance for all of the social media noise is wearing thin.
Make sure your messaging is not part of the noise but high quality content that is of value to your audience.
