Have yourself a Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you and yours. As we gather around the tree and enjoy time with our families, let’s remember those who are serving us in the military in faraway lands. We wish them a speedy return home.

Let’s take a moment to reflect on the many families in Newtown, Conn., or Aurora, Colo., and other places, who are spending a very sad Christmas without their children or sisters, brothers, fathers, sons, mothers or daughters. We wish them peace.

For those who are homeless or in need, we hope they will find sustenance and friendship at the Crossroads Mission dinners, thanks to the many who donate food and time to help them enjoy a holiday meal.

To everyone who donated gifts for children through the many programs in Yuma, we thank you for your generosity and caring that will make a family’s Christmas merry.

Christmas is a time to share, and Yumans have a special gift for that.
