Johnson Training and Wellness, formerly located downtown, has a new home at 3970 W. 24th St., Suite 107, at the Mission Valley Plaza, said owner Mike Johnson.

With the added room, the health and fitness club now offers group fitness training classes (which participants pay for by the month with no membership fee) and expanded its after-school youth performance training program.

Other programs include personalized core and functional training, injury rehabilitation, fitness assessments, corporate wellness testing and workout program design. Unlimited access is available 24 hours a day. For more information, call 341-9355 or visit www.JohnsonWellness.com.

Plans are moving forward for an expansion project at Penn Neon Sign Co., 707 W. 8th St. The company purchased and has demolished the property next door to provide room for the addition.

And owner Perry Pensky has submitted plans to the city for the building project that will nearly double his space and provide room for new equipment. He'll also be expanding his parking lot.

He said his father bought the shop in 1948.

An opportunity is now available for people to enjoy a massage at Arizona Western College's Student Massage Clinic. During the spring semester, student massage therapists will offer the public massages for relaxation and stress reduction.

The students are now taking appointments for Fridays in Cottage One on AWC’s main campus. To schedule an appointment, call 317-7529. Appointments are also available Mondays and Wednesdays at Yuma Regional Medical Center. To schedule an appointment at YRMC, call 336-7400.

Massage appointments are donation only to the AWC Massage Therapy Program.

The clinic is open during the spring semester to give student therapists the opportunity to practice their techniques while in a professional atmosphere under the guidance of a licensed certified therapist/instructor.

The Cielo Verde Retail Center, located on the west side of the Foothills-area Wal-Mart Supercenter at Avenue 8E and 32nd Street, is about completed and is now leasing spaces.

Michael W. Curtis Realty and Development will be moving its office in early April to the building, 3325 S. Avenue 8E, Suite 3, to manage that site and the nearby Plaza del Este professional center now under development.

Several suites are still available in the Cielo Verde Retail Center and lots at Plaza del Este. For more information, contact the office at 783-2215 or Dan Winters at 1-520-488-7401.

Sky Vista Estates, a gated subdivision being developed for those 55 and older off 32nd Street on Avenue 5-1/2E southwest of Country Roads, announced it is modifying its original policy of not allowing recreational vehicles. Originally, the 74-lot subdivision was restricted to double-wide manufactured homes with garages and included lot ownership.

RVs will now be allowed so lot owners will have more time during this economic slump to arrange their finances and eventually purchase a home, said Sky Vista owner Neil Scheuneman.

He said he also is offering lot financing to all buyers. Canadians who believe their currency will increase in value versus the American dollar may thus receive more value for their currency when their loan is repaid.

The real estate office of Terry Steen-Schneider, formerly with Realty Executives, has gone independent and is now the Steen Team Realty Inc. The office remains at 2450 S. 4th Ave., Suite 100-A, in the Crescent Center. For more information, call 726-2223 or visit TwiceTheService.com.

Steen-Schneider said that while she was happy with Realty Executives, "it was time to go out on our own to be able to expand our markets on the sales side of our business and better service our clients on the property management side."

Already, the office has seen increased efficiency in the property management department by being able to handle all aspects of the business in-house, Steen-Schneider said. Landlords are getting their funds earlier and more time is now available to service rentals.

The Steen Team Realty includes Steen-Schneider as the designated broker, Robert Tuggle handles property management, and Nabile Simo and Rosie Armenta handle all aspects of real estate sales.
