The gift that keeps on giving

Wisdom beyond the ordinary was spoken. The instruction given by Christ has been followed by all classes of people around the world.

“If you give it will come back to you,” Luke 6:38 [MSG], seems very simple and undependable. However, when divine intent and purpose are involved, the impossible becomes a part of life. Experiencing divine intervention should be expected but not lightly considered. When God's desire is done by His design unexplainable events will declare divine involvement in our behalf.

A monk, in his journeys, found a precious stone and kept it. One day he met a traveler. When the monk opened his bag to share his provisions, the traveler saw the jewel and asked the monk to give it to him. The monk graciously gave the traveler the precious jewel.

The traveler departed. He was elated with the unexpected gift of the precious jewel. It was enough to provide secured wealth for the rest of his life.

A few days later, the traveler came back searching for the monk. He found him and gave the stone back to him with a request.

“Will you please give me something that is more valuable than this stone which is of significant worth? I would like to have what enabled you to give this gem to me.”
