• Yuma Community Bank announces board changes

Kathy Brandon, president/CEO of Yuma Community Bank, announces that David S. Sellers, president of Sellers Petroleum, has been elected chairman of the bank’s board of directors. He replaces Ronald S. Watson, who has retired after eight years on the board.
 
Attorney Pamela K. Walsma has been elected board vice chair and Michael Didier, managing owner of Select Seed of Arizona Inc., has been elected board secretary.
 
In addition, Dwayne T. Alford, vice president and general manager of YUCO Gin Inc. II in Yuma, has been elected to the bank’s board.
 
Sellers has been president of Sellers Petroleum for 32 years.  He has a bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.
 
Walsma is with the Yuma law firm of Shadle and Walsma and practices in the areas of probate, real estate, business and estate planning. She received her law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law in St. Louis, Mo., and also has master's and bachelor's degrees in social work from the Saint Louis University School of Social Sciences.
 
Didier is involved in product development, sales and administration at Select Seed of Arizona. A graduate of California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, he has a bachelor’s degree in crop science. While attending Kofa High School, he studied agriculture and was active with FFA, serving as chapter vice president and sentinel.
 
As general manager of YUCO Gin, Alford oversees the cotton gin that handles approximately half the cotton grown in the Yuma area. He also owns and operates Alford Plaza, a 6,000-square-foot office complex in Yuma.
 
His community involvement includes Arizona Cotton Growers Association board president, member of the Yuma Area Ag Council, and member and ginner delegate of the National Cotton Ginners Association.  A graduate of the University of Arizona, he has a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
 
Yuma Community Bank’s main office is at 2285 S. 4th Ave. and the Foothills office is at 11242 S. Foothills Blvd.
