Dialysis center moves to new facility
Comments 0 | Recommend 0As of Monday, DaVita Dialysis Center will begin seeing patients in its new location at 7179 E. 31st Place, Lot 5, in Plaza Del Este, announced manager Donna Gebhart. It will have a new phone number of 726-2291.
Gebhart said the new center passed its final inspection late Thursday by the Arizona Department of Health. "We're so excited to be in the new, larger and state-of-the art facility," she said. It replaces the current dialysis center at 3010 S. 4th Ave.
An open house will be scheduled later this fall.

The Chevron station at 592 E. 16th St. is temporarily closed while the fuel pumps are being replaced. New pumps are being installed that will dispense diesel fuel as well as gasoline, said John Bornt, general manager for Shay Oil Co., which owns the station.
Bornt said he expects the new pumps to be up and running and the station reopened by Nov. 2.
In the meantime, the convenience store and the Quizno's located inside it remain open for business with the same hours.

Free weight management classes are being offered at 6 p.m. Thursdays at Curves for Women, 1701 S. Avenue B, announced co-owner Darla Schofield.

Redburn Tire, a commercial and industrial tire dealer, has leased the building at 3474 E. 32nd St., confirmed property owner Ron Martin.
Redburn Tire is in the process of hiring sales and service employees with plans to open a store in a couple of weeks, Martin said.

Martin also confirmed he and a partner have purchased Valle del Sol, Phase 2, in Somerton. The new subdivision at 14th Street and Somerton Avenue has all the infrastructure in and has 87 lots ready to build on. Sales are being handled by RE/MAX in Somerton.
Primary builders are San Luis Home Builders and A&F Home Builders.
Both also are the primary builders for Los Alamos Subdivision that Martin is developing in San Luis, Ariz.. In the past 15 months, 150 homes have been built there, with 210 lots remaining.

After three years as a special event caterer under the name Das Bratwurst Haus, Barbara Bowles is opening her German restaurant by the same name at 204 S. Madison Ave.
A native German, born and raised in Bamberg, she is the latest in a long line in her family to pursue an occupation feeding others.
With a targeted opening date of Oct. 26, Das Bratwurst Haus will be offering lunch and dinner menus of German “comfort food” of sandwiches, side dishes and desserts. To set the mood, the restaurant is decorated with historic scenes from Bowles' hometown back in Germany.

Fortuna Florist, 11274 S. Fortuna Road, has been purchased by Lisa Brazeel of Lisa Brazeel Interiors. She has renamed the business A Garden Party at Fortuna Florist, where she is combining her interior design background with fresh floral designs along with plant care and gardening supplies and services.
Jessica Jorden will be selling gifts and home decor items at Fortuna Floral Home Accents and Gifts at the same address.

Two physicians who specialize in obstetrics and gynecology have joined the staff of the Sunset Women's Medical Group at the San Luis, Ariz., clinic.
Dr. Nader Haddad obtained his medical degree in 2003 from the Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid, Jordan, and completed his residency this June at the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio.
Dr. Dania Sweidan graduated in 2004 from medical school at Jordan University, Amman, Jordan, and completed residency this June at the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio.
Both physicians are American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology eligible.

The Cocopah Wild River Family Entertainment Center is now open for business. Located in the former Cocopah Casino near the intersection of County 15th Street and Highway 95, the center features bowling, arcade games, food and beverage service, bar and party and meeting rooms.
A grand opening will be held Oct. 29.

I was a bit premature with my announcement a couple of weeks ago that Brown Bag Burger of Yuma, 5800 E. 32nd St., was now serving breakfast.
The restaurant indeed will be serving breakfast - beginning this Monday, with doors opening at 6:30 a.m.
