Several new tenants move into ProMed
Comments 0 | Recommend 0There has been a fair amount of new activity recently at ProMed, the three-story professional medical office at 2270 S. Ridgeview Drive, reported Don Denton, project coordinator. He noted that the building is now about 90 percent occupied. New tenants include:
• Sonora Quest Laboratories has moved into Suite 306 on the third floor. The move provides more space for clients to wait for their blood tests.
In addition, the business plans to open a rapid response lab by December where some blood tests can be analyzed on site rather than having to be sent out of town for results, said Anne Van Leeuwen, supervisor. "This will speed up the response significantly," she said.
• Patients 1st is a brand new family medical practice in town. It's temporarily located in Suite 201 but will move to a permanent office in Suite 207 after the first of the year. The practice includes Dr. John Gietzen and physician assistant Wayne McBride. The office can be reached at 276-4381.
• Yuma Urology Center is now located at ProMed in Suite 301. It's the practice of Dr. Nash Chulamorkodt.
• Dr. Jeremy Curry has opened his practice, Yuma Valley Advance Pain Management, in Suite 300. The office can be reached at 329-4771.
• Dr. Mary Ellen Luchetti has settled her dermatology practice, Dermatology Center of Yuma, in a new office in Suite 300. She can be reached at 783-0169.
They join Yuma Valley Family Medical Center, Ambulatory Infusion Center and Focused Imaging.

Readers have been asking what happened to Desert Delights, an ice cream business located at 2305 E. Palo Verde St., where they've found a locked door.
All I can say is that the phone number has been disconnected with no forwarding information provided.
Yuma Physicians Medical Clinic has opened its doors at 1079 W. 23rd St., where it is open afternoons, evenings and weekends. The clinic can be reached at 782-0218.
It is a walk-in clinic for the patients of the physicians who own the clinic as well as patients who have no local primary care physician, reported Julia Mitchell, practice manager.
Owners include nine internal and family practice physicians, Drs. Clarence Clark, Wissam Fayad, Henry Florez, Ismael Guerrero, Roberto Garcia, Basem Meri, Manjunath Nathan, Ricky Ochoa and Sergio Penaherrer.
Matt Tams has become a broker and opened his own real estate office, Tams Realty. Along with handling both commercial and residential real estate transactions, he also can assist homeowners facing foreclosure to help them avoid losing their homes.

Tams and his father opened Tams Real Estate Team in 2002, which they sold in 2005. Most recently, Tams was working with Realty Executives.
Two local businesses are going solar.
According to Alan Kircher, city of Yuma assistant building official, Sprague's Sports, 345 W. 32nd St., has submitted plans to install a solar photovoltaic system. And installing a photovoltaic system is part of an office expansion project at Misenhimer, Aivazian and Tennant, 3150 S. Catalina Drive.
In other building activity, construction of a new tennis court has been completed at Country Roads RV Village just in time for the winter resident season.
Dr. M. Mark Awar's practice, Young Hearts of Yuma, is now open at 2051 W. 25th St., Suites A and B (that's adjacent to Julieanna's Patio Cafe), where he is seeing existing and new patients.

Awar is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
Bekka Fulkerson has opened a massage therapy business at Foothills Village Barber Shop, 11242 S. Foothills Blvd., Suite 12, in the Foothills Village Shopping Center. Her phone number is 305-1980.
