Russell Coil plant gets new owners
The Russell Coil plant in Yuma is under new ownership, but for now it will be business as usual, said media spokeswoman Erica Bartsch.
The plant, built in 1986 at 3860 S. Arizona Ave., manufactures commercial and industrial refrigeration products for Carrier Corp. Earlier this year, the plant was reported to have about 200 employees.
Monomoy Capital Partners, L.P., a New York private equity fund focused on value investment and business improvement, announced last week that it has acquired the assets of the Heat Transfer Products Group (HTPG) of Carrier Corp. HTPG employs more than 500 associates and operates manufacturing and distribution facilities in Yuma and Scottsboro, Ala.

Site work for the Border Patrol's new Wellton station is well under way and quite visible from Interstate 8.
Located to the south of I-8 on the east side of Wellton, the $22 million complex will have 50,000 square feet of state-of-the-art workspace for the 300 agents who work out of the station. The new station will also include a 1,600-square-foot garage to help service the fleet of vehicles, a 1,200-square-foot canine facility and 500 parking spaces.
The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2011.
The Wellton station area of responsibility encompasses more than 3,000 square miles, including 65 miles of international border. Agents there also operate a tactical checkpoint on I-8, a major route for transporting narcotics and smuggled persons.

The Deason Law Firm, which provides estate planning services, has announced a new service that will help pet owners protect their pet's future well-being.
Dubbed the “Pet Trust,” this legal document provides pet owners with the means to not only designate funds for their pet's future care but also stipulate exactly what kind of care they expect.
“Approximately 500,000 animals are abandoned every year due to the disability or death of their human companions,” said Robert Armstrong, founder and principal of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys.
Fully enforceable by the courts in Arizona, the new Pet Trust is a revocable document so it can be changed and updated by the owner at any time. For more information on Pet Trust, contact The Deason Law Firm at 783-4575.
