Obama at heart radical organizer
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The latest attempt to rush through health care reform legislation is yet another example of federal intervention on steroids we have experienced as of late. The continued march towards government control of every facet of our lives is totally understandable given the background and ideological tenets of President Obama.
Very few of the media pundits have bothered to explore the teachings of Saul Alinsky, more affectionately known as the “father of modern American radicalism.” Alinsky was the original community organizer. His book, “Rules for Radicals” outlined the strategy for community organizing which had its roots in the city of Chicago. You see where this is going.
The tribute at the beginning of “Rules for Radicals” leaves one with anything but a warm and fuzzy feeling: “From all our legends, mythology and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins - or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom - Lucifer.” Excuse me, folks, I just threw up a little.
Obama's community organizing work began in the South Side of Chicago when he was hired by Alinsky's protégés. Although Obama sidesteps any discussion of Alinsky's philosophy, Marian Wright Edelman, the Children's Defense Fund leader who knows Obama, had this to say about Alinsky's influence, “Both Hillary and Barack reflect the understanding of community organizing strategy. Both just know how to leverage power.”
Once the background is understood, it is evident why there is massive government movement and intervention into industry, health care, the financial sector and whatever future target happens to be on the radar.
It also clarifies why we have 30-plus “czars” appointed by Obama who are not examined by the Senate confirmation process and who answer only to the administration. The claim of transparency is nothing but a farce.
Make no mistake, Barack Obama is not FDR. He is not Abraham Lincoln. He is a community organizer, plain and simple, one who is quite adept at his craft.
The shame of it is his true talents have been implemented to the detriment of American liberty and personal freedoms, both of which are nothing more than obstacles in his quest to achieve the end goal. If left unopposed, I fear that the “end goal” will crush the very foundation of our democracy.
