Special assembly
The Spanish-speaking public is invited to a special day assembly for Jehovah's Witnesses.
The theme “Protejamos la Conciencia,” 1 Timoteo 1:19, will be from 9:40 a.m. to 3:55 p.m. Saturday at the San Luis High School auditorium, 1250 N. 8th Ave. For more information, call Ismael Ramos at 246-6723.
After 5 dinner
Christian Women's Club After 5 Group will have guest speaker Carole Phillips give a talk Oct. 2 at Desert Hills Golf Course, Putter Inn Restaurant, 1245 W. Desert Hills Drive.

Blessing of the animals
Christ the Redeemer will have a blessing of the animals from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Yuma Bark Park. All pets are welcome. For more information, call 343-9551 or send an email to ctryuma@gmail.com.
Open house
The public is invited to attend an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 5 and Oct. 13 for the new Foothills Meetinghouse of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8-1/2E and 36th Street.
The public can get a preview of the various auxiliary organizations within the church, to include the Relief Society, the church's organization for women; and the Primary, the program for children.
