ON DECK: Oden to Heat?

I don't like spending a lot of time dwelling on rumors that have roughly no chance of going through.

But the fact that Greg Oden is looking for an NBA comeback — and that it might be with the Heat — has me (something).

I really don't know what to think. Obviously, the rational part of my brain knows that (1) there's no chance this rumor will come true and (2) if it did, Oden is an injury prone monstrosity who will never live up to the status of being the No. 1 overall pick, even taken ahead of Kevin Durant.

But there's the idiot sports fan part of me that wants to believe Oden can turn it around. I mean, a fresh start, a new city as far as was possible from his old city — it's a sweet gig. And he wouldn't need to do much with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and others. So it could work.
