Rep. Grijalva has new Somerton office
SOMERTON — U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva's staff is serving south Yuma County residents out of a new office in this city.
The move to 146 N. State Ave. places the Tucson Democrat's staff in a larger office that is more accessible to the public, Grijalva said during the recent inauguration of the office.
“We want to let people know that we are maintaining our presence in south Yuma County. A lot of people had thought we closed the office after the election, but no, we will continue offering services here.”
Grijalva had represented the entire county before redistricting divided the county between two congressional districts. In November, Grijalva won a new term in Congress, representing District 3, which takes in the southern half of the county.
The new office, located in space rented from Housing America Corp., is next to Somerton City Hall. It previously was at 201 N. Bingham Ave.
Aside from his congressional office in Washington and the Somerton site, Grijalva has offices in Tucson and the Phoenix suburb of Avondale.
The Somerton office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone is 343-7933.
