“Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” Joshua 1:8.
Joshua spoke these words to the children of Israel when they were coming into one of the greatest challenges and opportunities they had known to that time. The sure guarantee of success that we can have is hidden in that counsel given by Joshua, from God, to those that he was leading. That guarantee for our success is that we live in accordance with God's Word. When we make the Bible our guide and Christ the Lord of our life, we are confident that God will help us and God does all things well.
Astronomers tell us that there is a great order in the universe. Our planet has atmospheric conditions so delicately balanced that if the Earth's rate of spinning changed just slightly or if the Earth moved any closer to the sun, all life on this planet would be destroyed. If divine order is needed to keep this world from self-destruction, it's easy to see how important it is for us to find God's plan to save ourselves from being destroyed.
Jesus said, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well,” Matthew 6:33.
So many people drift from place to place, job to job. Even Christians, without seeking God's direction, aimlessly drift around and find themselves in trouble. If they had asked God for his wisdom ahead of time, He would have shown them the right path. God has a perfect plan for you. When you live according to His order, God's order, you will have success and peace and joy.
