Online dating sites target specific communities
With Valentine's Day fast approaching I thought it would be fun to touch on the ever-growing and ever-changing online dating world.
Last year more than 17 million people tried to find a relationship online and that number is projected to double this year. I admit I know several that have resulted in long term relationships.
With successful stories of marriage, it makes sense that many new sites would emerge that target very specific dating communities. Whether it is religion, common friends, income levels or even sci-fi hobbyists, websites likes ChristianSingles, eHarmony, MillionaireMatch and TrekPassions make trying to find true love easier than ever by simply typing your way through a virtual crowd of people.
Recently, there have been new sites like Soul2match that actually match people based off of only facial structure, stating that their research shows the more couples look alike the happier they are. Not sure what to say about that except for the past 17 years I have been very happy my husband has never looked like me!
