Summer Vacation Photo Winners!

Raising Yuma asked, and readers responded! In fact, 30 of you submitted a photo or two of your summertime activities – and for that, we are very grateful!

However, there can be only two winners this time around.

First place – a gift card to Lotus Day Spa – went to Alison Howell, who submitted a photo of her son, Trevar, in San Diego.

“Trevar was excited to see the water,” Howell noted.

Second place, a movie bucket to Main Street Cinemas, went to Michelle Bucsko Collum, for a photo of her two children in Hawaii.

The children, ages 4 and almost 2, were mesmerized by the turtles swimming in the pond, Bucsko Collum said.

We had lots of other terrific entries as well, so we decided to share a few honorable mentions with our readers.

Danielle Miranda shared a photo of her two-year-old's first time down a big slide.

Jessica Coggins snapped a great shot of her husband test-driving a Slip N Slide for their daughters and nephews.

Keeping with the water theme, Treasure Lasseigne submitted a photo of her daughter, Adalyn Noelle, playing in the pool with her princess float.

Michelle Moll caught her daughter Ella, 3, getting wet in a rare Yuma storm. “Rain smells funny,” Ella said.

Salvatore Oliverio went fishing in a tube for the first time during his staycation in Yuma, and snared a two- to three-pound bass.

And last but not least, Eva Maria Bukovinszky visited Bryce Canyon, Utah, while moving from Colorado to Yuma.

“Bryce Canyon, Utah, was one of the incredible places I have visited and stayed at for a couple of days on my way to Yuma. During hiking I got my instrument (duduk) out and practiced for a short time,” Bukovinszky said.
