ON DECK: Jennings makes NBA rookie splash

It looks like Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Jennings did know what he was doing.

After skipping a year of college by going overseas to play a year of ball before entering the NBA draft, Jennings looked like an overconfident kid that was risking his career.

Flash forward to Saturday night and the kid drops 55 points on the Warriors as the Bucks get out to a 5-2 start - their best in five seasons.

Jenninigs is averaging more than 20 points per game and is adding more than just points. He had five rebounds and five assists to go along with his monster night of scoring.

With the rookie's performance, he joins elite company of first-year players to chalk up 55 or more points. His name goes up with Wilt Chamberlain (who scored 55 or more three times and holds the record with 58 - something the Stilt did two times in 1960), Rick Barry and Elgin Baylor.

I don't want to call Jennings a future star of the NBA, but he definitely is looking like it early on.
