Police seek suspect in gas station robbery

Yuma police are seeking a suspect in the armed robbery of an area gas station Wednesday.

According to police, a man entered the Barney's at 2830 S. Pacific Ave., just before 10 p.m., displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. After the clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect escaped in a newer model gray Toyota Camry with a Fisher advertisement plate on the rear of the vehicle driven by another person.

The suspect is described as medium complexioned with an average build, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and wearing a gray sweatshirt, black mask, aviator-style sunglasses and khaki-colored shorts.

The Yuma Police Department encourages anyone with information to call the 783-4421, or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
