New San Luis police chief to be sworn in
The acting chief of San Luis Police Department, who has held the position since May, will be sworn in Wednesday as its new police chief.
Chief of Police Arturo Ramos will take his oath of office during a swearing-in ceremony before the San Luis City Council at its regularly scheduled meeting.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 1090 E. Union St.
Mayor Gerardo Sanchez, other elected officials, police department officers and staff and community leaders, are also expected to be on hand for the event.
The city council, with two members absent, voted 5-0 last month to approve a full-time contract with Ramos that will pay him an annual salary of $95,000.
