Police investigating Saturday morning shooting

Police are investigating a Saturday morning shooting in Yuma's Historic North End. There were no injuries reported.

According to the Yuma Police Department, the shooting happened shortly before 5:45 a.m. at a residence in the 600 block of South 1st Avenue. Multiple shots were fired and struck the residence and vehicle parked in the dirt driveway.

When police arrived on scene, the shooter or shooters had already fled the area. Police recovered several bullet casings and investigated the rounds which impacted the home and vehicle.

Police did not release any information about who they believe may have been the shooter, what type of weapon was used, or a possible motive. In addition, they did not disclose if the shooter was in a car or on foot when they pulled the trigger.

The case remains under investigation.
