Police release photos of Mr. G's break-in

Yuma police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who broke into the Mr. G's restaurant several months ago.

According to Officer Joe Franklin of the Yuma Police Department, the burglary at the restaurant, 501 S. 4th Ave., happened at about 1:17 a.m. Oct. 27.

“We are releasing these pictures to the public to see if anyone may recognize him,” Franklin said.

Detective Rodrigo Bacaneri said the unknown suspect got into the restaurant by breaking the glass door on the west side facing 4th Avenue. “The owners tell us that nothing was taken, but there was a lot of property damage.”

Bacaneri added that the same man is suspected of breaking into the Imperial Truck and Auto Parts store in El Centro several hours earlier at 8:50 p.m., stealing thousand of dollars' worth of merchandise.

Security cameras at that store captured video of the suspect breaking the counter apart to get to the cash register. He is wearing the same clothing and has similar facial features as the suspect in the photos released by Yuma police.

The Mr. G's burglary is still under investigation. Anyone with information about this case is asked call Detective Bacaneri at 373-4694, or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous.
