Trust God through prayer

When we pray, it is very beneficial for us to remember that God is more concerned about His plan being accomplished than we are. God's desire is that we trust Him, that we trust His timing, that we trust that it is His will to answer our prayer as we seek His purpose being fulfilled within our lives.

Psalms 141:1-3 makes an excellent observation as we consider this. In verses 1 and 2, the writer begins by saying, “Oh, Lord, I call to you; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to you. May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.” Then he says in verse 3, “Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips.”

We, frequently, in our commentaries of prayer and to each other, endeavor to say the right thing at the right time. But why can we not just allow God to take control, yield to His timing and not say what we feel like we need to say or even do what we feel like we need to do, but instead allow God to help us rather than us helping God? When we ask God to lead us in prayer, He will lead us in the prayers that will be in compliance with His plan.

Ask God to give you confidence that He will answer your prayer according to His perfect will. Faith, in prayer, is trusting that God will answer your prayer. Trust, in words expressed in prayerful faith, will provide more reward than any other words that can be spoken.
