Kofa wins Flowing Wells tournament

The Kings played some of their best volleyball of the season and won the Flowing Wells tournament on Saturday.

After pool play, Kofa defeated Pusche Ridge 25-16, 25-16 and took down St. Gregory 25-16, 25-14 to claim the title.

“It was weird because in the (pool play) games, it was close. We didn’t blow past them,” Kofa coach Brittany Garcia said. “But the high level competition pumps them up.”

Junior outside hitter Jasmine Ortiz led the Kings with a combined 15 kills and senior Jacky Fuentes added 13 kills. Sophomore setter Sally Gastelo had a team-high 30 assists.
