Vets courteous and respectful
Thanks to our veterans on this Veterans Day 2012.
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank you for two reasons. First, for your service to our country, and secondly for your courtesy and respect during our trips to the VA Hospital in Tucson. Some of you, I transported multiple times. One individual, Jim V., made eight trips and was like an assistant, always putting down the portable step for the remaining passengers at our rest stops.
The courtesy and respect that you all gave me was greatly appreciated. It certainly made our trips enjoyable. I have decided to take a leave of absence from driving for a while. If my health is good enough come next April, I could very well return. Your safety and comfort during these past seven months were my prime concern. For your information, we covered in excess of 13,000 miles during this period with no major problem.
I salute you all.
