Please have consideration for traffic laws

I am also a license plate watcher and also know that some snowbirds DO have vehicles with Zoner plates (gee, imagine that) and that the majority of the traffic problems are due to people not observing the speed limits or their mirrors and not moving over to the slower lanes to allow for smoother traffic flow. THERE are speed limit SIGNS out there. Know your destination before you head out. GPS and maps are available. Just do the speed limits and have some consideration for those of us who live here year-round.

I personally don't mind the visitors, for there are many who are really good people. Then again, there are those who think they can and will do whatever they please just because they add to the economy. I have witnessed where rudeness comes along with what some have added to the economy here.

But this does not mean that you can go as fast as you want and turn at areas that are illegal. We who live here 365 are not the ones who should have to move or go anywhere.

Yes, Yuma does appreciate your business and it would also appreciate you as guests of this town to observe traffic signs and SPEED limits. I have met many wonderful winter visitors here, and I am not taking this view to all of you. We are all on a fixed income now and not asking for jackrabbit starts, just get up to speed on the roads and freeways.

The cops love stopping people that are speeding, but when are they going to start citing people that are impeding traffic flow? The answer, “NEVER!”

Impeding traffic also causes accidents and worst of all, road rage. When are the cops going to understand this? The answer once again, “NEVER!” Not until someone gets hurt or killed, and probably not ever. We who live here 365 all have jobs here and yes, we do have schedules to keep, and for those that don't care it is just plain rude and tells the story.

I once again ask for consideration from all snowbirds, just follow traffic signs and signals and have a great visit.
