Kings drop Criminals
The Kofa softball team defeated Yuma 6-1 at home on Wednesday.
Patricia Porter was 3-for-4 at the plate and was the winning pitcher after scattering four hits and walking three. Porter was a home run shy of hitting for the cycle.
Miranda Brookhart went 4-for-4 and Jazzmin Abbott went 2-for-3.
The Kings also beat Yuma Catholic 24-0 on Monday. Porter no-hit the Shamrocks and went 3-for-4.
Kofa (5-5) plays at Gila Ridge on Friday.
Raiders' Ray one-hits Hawks
Sarah Ray threw a one-hitter as the Cibola softball team beat Gila Ridge 2-0 at home on Wednesday.
Kacy Boyd drove in the Raiders' first run on a fielders choice in the second inning. The Raiders second run came off a sequence of errors, walks and a passed ball in the third.
Alexis Gorman went 2-for-3 and Myliah Ramirez had a double for the Raiders. Isabella Olea had Cibola's only other hit.
Cibola (7-6, 3-0 Gila Valley Region) hosts a doubleheader with Lake Havasu on Friday.
