More rain possible in Yuma today
The Yuma County area saw .3 of an inch of rain in a 10-hour span Tuesday and is expected to see a few scattered showers today.
Ken Clark, forecaster for AccuWeather, The Sun's weather service, said thunderstorms gathering approximately 50 miles to the southwest of Yuma, in Baja California, were expected to hit Yuma overnight and bring more rain today.
He said the heaviest rain should have already moved through the area and that the rain should subside for more than one week after today.
Tuesday's rain brought the rain level to above average for the year to date, but Clark said it was still approximately 60 percent below average for the full season.
