Recycling is great, but keep it private

Recycling is great, and we all should do so.

But does city government need to be the one doing pickup? I do not think so.

I put all my recyclables in my two tote containers and deliver them to the blue dumpster in our neighborhood and the nearby little green house (both located at Trinity United Methodist Church parking lot).

Find your neighborhood collection bin and recycle at no cost to you. Let the private vendors (Waste Management, Habitat for Humanity, etc.) do the hauling.

Do not use taxpayers' money to compete with the many existing recycling businesses. The Yuma Sun could help by listing vendors and locations.
