Yuma falls 65-46 to No. 1 Ironwood Ridge
Yuma hung right with No. 1 Ironwood Ridge for three quarters at the 5A-II state basketball tournament Saturday.
Entering the fourth quarter, the Criminals trailed by just five until Ironwood blew open the lead with a 26-point fourth to beat Yuma 65-46.
Yuma's Mitchell Harmon scored 14 points and Carlos Wallet added 13 against the much taller Ironwood squad.
Yuma coach Louie Pisano said his team stuck around by playing zone and forcing Ironwood to shoot from outside, something they struggled with until the fourth quarter. "We were right in it until we made some turnovers and took a few bad shots," Pisano said. "I'm proud of the kids, they hung right there with them for most the game."
