Sidewinders facing elimination
Juan Martinez ripped a single on the first pitch of the game and eventually scored, them homered in the second inning.
Unfortunately for San Luis, that was all the offense the Sidewinders would get.
Tucson-Sunnyside scored the go-ahead run in the fourth in a 5-3 win over San Luis, knocking the Sidewinders into an elimination game Tuesday against Phoenix-Skyline in San Luis.
San Luis (13-7) had rallies in the fourth and fifth - runners at second and third and less than two outs - cut short because of stellar defensive play by the Blue Devils (13-6).
"We played good baseball," San Luis coach Cesar Castillo said. "But they had some really good defensive plays. They turned a double play. They got a diving catch in right."
