Man robbed at knifepoint
Yuma police say a man was robbed at knifepoint just east of Madison Avenue on 1st Street early Wednesday morning.
It happened at about 3:07 a.m. when the robber approached a man walking in the area and demanded money from him. Police Sgt. Leanne Worthen said the victim was walking eastbound along 1st Street on his way back home from a nearby convenience store.
The robber is described as an average build, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored pants. He is thought to be in his mid-20s and had short facial hair.
The robber displayed a black folding pocketknife and left with an undisclosed amount of money.
