Man gets 10 years for sex convictions
A man accused of fondling two young girls was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Thursday after entering into a plea agreement.
Yuma County Superior Court Judge Tom Cole also ordered Derrick Anthony Robles, 35, to pay $2,330 in restitution and $650 for attorney fees, and placed him on probation for the rest of his life.
The probation is to be served after Robles is released from prison, and requires him to do 40 hours of community service per month.
Robles, who lists no fixed address, was arrested in January after a 16-year-old girl told a friend that he had been fondling various parts of her body, according to a court document.
During the investigation, officers found another victim, who was 13 years old.
Robles was charged with five counts of sexual conduct with a minor. In a plea agreement, he pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted sexual conduct with a minor.
