YC fourth at Kofa tourney

After two games Saturday, the YC girls weren’t up for a third.

Despite qualifying for the third-place game in a rematch against Kofa — which the Shamrocks defeated 52-48 earlier in the day — YC forfeited the final game instead of playing three games.

“We made our minds up before today, once we saw the schedule, that if we made that third-place game we wouldn’t play,” YC coach Bob McGalliard said. “We were spent.”

The third-place game was immediately after the Shamrocks fell 58-22 to Gila Ridge, which lost to Catalina Foothills in the championship game. The Shamrocks would have faced the Kings in a rematch, instead they settled on fourth.
