Truck goes under parked semi-trailer in Saturday accident

A man was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center Saturday morning after the vehicle he was driving collided with a semi-trailer parked on the side of the road.
According to Rural/Metro, the incident happened at about 10 a.m. on Highway 95 near Avenue 9E when the man's Ford pick-up truck drifted off of the road and smashed into the trailer, coming to rest beneath it.
The driver was able to exit the cab of the truck, which was completely destroyed, before the arrival of emergency personnel. He was transported to YRMC via Rural/Metro ambulance. His identity and the extent of his injuries were unknown as of press time Saturday.
