Hall pass mistaken for gun at San Luis High
An incident Wednesday morning involving a student possibly having a weapon at San Luis High School prompted police to lock down the school as a precautionary measure.
According to Officer Tadeo Azael De La Hoya, a spokesman for the San Luis Police Department, officers responded to the school shortly before 8 a.m. after a student reported to school officials that they saw another student with what they thought was a weapon of some type.
He also said there were never any threats made to any students.
De La Hoya said officers found the student who was believed to have had the weapon and discovered it was actually a large hall pass with a metallic attachment.
De La Hoya said the lockdown was lifted by about 8:45 a.m.
