Scorps fall to Outlaws

Chris Thompson entered Tuesday’s game against Chico with a 1-0 record and 1.42 ERA in six games as the Scorpions closer.
He left Tuesday’s game 1-1 with a 5.63 ERA.
Thompson blew a three-run lead in the ninth and gave up a walkoff home run to Brian McFall with two outs in the 10th in a 5-4 loss to the Outlaws.
The loss was the third in a row for Yuma (30-41) and evened the 12-game series at 5-5.
Before the comeback for Chico (34-38), the Scorpions scored four in the fifth, capped on a two-run home run by Jose Canseco, his eighth of the season.
Yuma outhit the Outlaws 11-8. The teams continue their series at 7:05 tonight.
