How does your new year look — good, better, best?
A man from Colorado moved to Texas. He built a house with a large window. From his viewpoint through the window he could see hundreds of miles of beautiful, rolling range land. “The only problem is,” he said, “There's nothing to see.”
About the same time, a Texan moved to Colorado. He built a house with a large picture window, from which the magnificent Rocky Mountains were visible. “The only problem is,” he said, “I can't see anything because of these mountains.”
A new year is provided. Look at it as an opportunity and not as an obstacle. You will either “worship” or “worry” through the days, weeks and months. Worry will make the days worse. Worship of the caring, cognizant Creator makes life worthy of living. He can take life one wonders about and make it a wonderful life.
St. Francis of Assisi's prayer is a treasury of hope and help … “Oh, Divine Master grant me that I may not so much …
seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in forgiving that we are forgiven …”
David, King of Israel, and author of great works of worship, wrote with wisdom, “God, may the words I say and the things I think about, be what you can work with.” Psalm 19:14.
See as God sees, know as God knows, do as God does, say as God says … the year will be full of wonderful days.
