Sex offender has new Yuma address

A convicted sex offender with a high risk to reoffend is residing at a new address in a Yuma neighborhood.

Frankie M. Munoz Jr., 37, is now living at 1458 S. Thomas Ave. He is a described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, about 195 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

In October 2003, Munoz entered into a plea agreement in Yuma County Superior Court to one count of attempted child molestation. He was sentenced to 180 days in the county jail and lifetime intensive probation on Nov. 18.

Munoz was originally charged with child molestation during an investigation that revealed he was having sexual contact with a 13-year-old female who he knew. In 2008 he pled guilty to failure to register as a sex offender and was sentenced to five years in prison.

Offenders are categorized in three levels. Level 1 is a low risk to reoffend, Level 2 an intermediate risk and Level 3 a high risk. Munoz is considered a Level 3 sex offender.

Munoz is not wanted by law enforcement. The sheriff's office is releasing information about his new address pursuant to the community notification law on sex offenders.
