Realty Executives is bringing a seminar to Yuma that will include mastering short sales in the Arizona market and supporting buyers in a short sale transaction.

The two-day combination course is designed to help real estate agents with closing more short sale transactions, whether representing sellers or buyers.

The monthly Yuma County Chamber of Commerce mixer will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Homewood Suites by Hilton, 1955 E. 16th St. Cost is $5 per person.

QuickBooks payroll workshop
An advanced QuickBooks payroll workshop will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Arizona Western College Entrepreneurial Center, 1351 S. Redondo Center Drive, Room 158.
Cost is $49 and includes a textbook. Participants will learn how to set up employer tax information, maintain employee information and do payroll reports.

Pesticide safety training
Pesticide safety training will be provided in both English and Spanish for agricultural workers and pesticide handlers during a free workshop July 29 at Booth Machinery, 6565 E. 30th St. (off Araby Road and 32nd Street). The schedule includes:
• Pesticide safety for agricultural workers in Spanish - 10-11 a.m.
• Pesticide safety for pesticide handlers in Spanish - 10 a.m. to noon
• Pesticide safety for agricultural workers in English - 1-2 p.m.
• Pesticide safety for pesticide handlers in English - 1-3 p.m.
Sign-in for each class begins a half-hour before the start of the session.

E-mail marketing seminar
A free e-mail marketing seminar will be presented for area small business owners and managers from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 4 at 180 W. 1st St.
Led by small business and e-mail marketing expert Ron Cates of Constant Contact, the “Mastering E-mail Marketing” seminar will teach attendees how small business and organizations can connect with customers, develop long-term relationships, repeat business and increase referrals. Participants will also learn how to create e-mail newsletters and promotions and track and use the feedback from their e-mail marketing efforts to improve their marketing programs.

Hosts of the seminar are the Arizona Western College Small Business Development Center and the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce, along with the Arizona SBDC Network and U.S. Small Business Administration.
AWC offers course on victimology
This fall, Arizona Western College will be offering a new Administration of Justice Services special topics course, AJS 099 Victimology.
AJS 099 is an online course offered during the fall 2009 semester and will be taught by Asmahan Akam. The three-credit course can be substituted for any AJS course. Topics will include victims of various crimes, current research, victimology and its relationship to criminal justice.
Register online at www.azwestern.edu or in person at the Enrollment Services Office in the Student Services Building on AWC’s main campus. The fall semester begins Aug. 17.
