Hawks cruise over Gila Valley rivals

Gila Ridge cruised to a boys golf victory over its Gila Valley Region rivals with a four-player total of 176 on Tuesday at Desert Hills Golf Course.
Collin Catron shot a 2-over par 38 for the Hawks to earn medalist honors. He was followed by teammates Coby Underhill (44), Tyson Swenson (45) and Beaudy Schaffman with a 49.
Cibola was second with a 194 total, followed by Kofa with 228. Yuma High was disqualified because only three Criminals posted scores.
KJ Harrison shot a 47 to pace the Raiders. Cory Johnson shot a 52 to lead the Kings and Justin Cedillo's 53 led Yuma High.
